The Hermanus Fynarts Festival was created by dedicated members of the Arts and Crafts sub-committee of the Hermanus Tourism Bureau Management Committee in the latter months of 2012, under the chairmanship of Mary Faure.  Their vision for making Hermanus an Art Mecca of South Africa is soon to bear its fruits. 

For those who are passionate about the Arts in all its forms, The Hermanus Fynarts Festival offers 10 days of wonderful exhibitions  from paintings, ceramics and sculpture to jewellery, recitals of music and tastings of award winning wines and fine food demonstrations.  This celebration of South African arts from the 7 -16 June 2013, promises to tantalize and satisfy the love of arts in visitors and participants of all ages.  The Hermanus Fynarts Festival is geared to make its mark on the annual calendar of festivals in Hermanus alongside the Whale Festival, Kalfiefees and Hawston Seafood festival.

Ten days of creative stimulation in the form of exhibitions, discussions, recitals, workshops and art and cooking courses as well as quirky chat shows will be presented by accomplished presenters and craftsmen.

Taste bud tantalizers will be presented by Kilzers Kitchen.  Based in Knysna, they will be offering    a few 1 day courses at the FynArts.

Daily tours are scheduled to the Hemel-en-Aarde for wine tasting on the Hermanus Wine route where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery, gourmet restaurants and famous wines from our vineyards. 

Romantiques Movie Theatre from yesteryear will transport you back in time with shows scheduled daily.

 Guided walks in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve will satisfy those who love to be in the outdoors side by side with nature.

The Tuk Tuk service will be operating between the galleries, venues and restaurants.

Eastbury Cottage will be offering accommodation specials from the 7^th and keeping their winter rates for the long weekend.

During this celebration time in Hermanus there is a bonus of sighting our Southern Right Whales in Walker Bay as they return to our warmer waters for their calving and mating season.  Whale season begins in earnest from June to middle December every year.
